Dear Friends,

Greetings from Bangladesh.  I came back to Bangladesh on 20th of last October.  I spent one month in Dhaka studying Bengali to refresh, and came to Joyramkura at the end of November. Joyramkura is the place where I had been working for one year, so I settled soon.  Now I am working busy as a surgeon in the hospital.  I am doing surgery almost every day.

In early March I did surgery for eleven years old boy, who had been suffered abdominal pain more than one week.  In his abdomen there were a lot of pus and his appendix was perforated. We did appendicectomy and toileting.  After discharge, he came to OPD complaining abdominal pain.  I thought I have to rule out intestinal obstruction due to abscess.  So I suggested him to admit again and did ultrasonography and X ray.  Ultrasonography showed a small abscess like lesion in his pelvic cavity.  I examined his rectum and found no clear abscess.  I decided to follow up him discharging.  When his mother got his bill, she came to me and said, “It cost 1600 taka (about 16 USD)!!  We have only 500 taka, how we can eat?  It’s your fault.”  His father also blamed me showing his hand, which is ragged by hard work.

I used to do examinations when I thought it’s necessity for patients, and I had never been complained about it in Japan.  But here in Bangladesh, I have to be wiser.  I have to think about their life.  I realized the difficulty to work in Bangladesh again.  Please pray for that I can show Jesus’ love for them even though I am not perfect.

In Jesus, Megumi
